Well, have you?

I don't actually NEED to use an online dating service, but I thought I would give it a shot.

I got 2 spammers and a special person... i don't know if its a real person or somone trying to con me.

Check this out. Today I was asked if I could do her a favor. This favor is to pick up a check from some 'company' and then send it through Western Union.

Now this is what I can not figure out: If I own a business and I want to send money internationally, then why can't the business just send it through Wester Union, Money Gram or better yet, any international bank? Why would I have to be the middle man for this?

Someone tell me why its so hard to find someone online these days... not that I NEED to look online... To think; If I had the money, I would have spend 100 dollars for the online dating service just to get spam and conned?

LOL

The best advice I can give you is...If it is too good to be true than it isn't. Also , stay realistic. Who do you deserve?
I met my fiance online. Wedding is next year.

I agree with Night Train. I met my mate on a personals site.

First tip... always use an e-mail address from one of your IM's, to sign up with! Never give out your main address to anyone! These sites are full of people who are only out to trick you. Ditch the one you spoke of, fast!

Second tip... Change your profile. If you will accept only a long term or permanent relationship, say it. Speak your heart honestly and add some humor. There are many more women on these sites than men. The "good ones" are used to getting winks or messages from men who are only looking for their next conquest! You will not get a reply if you are not up front with them.

Last tip... hang in there! You spent your money, now spend the time to search the site for the kind of person you deserve. Mine lived 1800 miles away from me, expand your search limits. And....don't fall for anything involving sending money so they can come to meet you!

Good luck in your search!

Sounds like a scam - iirc, this is a money laundering technique.

Do it and you're likely to be moving illegal money around.

This isn't the kind of 'special person' anybody would be looking for.

I haven't heard from 'her' since that day.

I was really hoping I was wrong, but its too good to be true.

The good news is that I didn't spend any money on the service, but then again, the service... I don't know... you can't realy interact with anyone with simple quotes and messages...
