The Possible Use Of The site THERE With eSOURCE Magazine
Can it be used?

"There" is a community of chatters on-line that is also a 3D world. With the use of broadband and cable reaching more than half the households in the US and steadily increasing abroad, 3D worlds can actually become a possibility with faster download times and high powered computers running the program (by high powered, I mean the power of a standard computer has increased to allow a program like this to work easily)..
With eSOURCE being an entertainment and cultural site (eventually spanning the world... hopefully) and eventually having a following, people are going to want to communicate with each other. Eventually, the forums for eSOURCE will be set up on Modblog, but for now, its just a blog. (Speaking of which, when ModBlog Extreme comes on line, it is quite possible that eSOURCE will be totally hosted by the ModWorks Group; more specifically ModBlog. not to mention eSOURCE is going to have skins too and integrating with DeskMod will be easy). But when it is time for forums how will they interact?
It should be known what I think about messageboards being a great communication device, but its is also a community and in allot of ways, a knowledge base of information. With that, what features can be on this systems? Well, after looking around I stumbled on There.com and it would seem that I found something I can use. I have also pondered using ActiveWorlds, mostly because of the fact that I know I can build worlds based around the site, but that didn't seem to be such a good idea. Who wants to just look around and see stuff about whats good in entertainment?
Now THERE.com is more to the liking. it has things for users to do, talk about, and create. There are games and other little tid-bits that an new business trying to sell stuff would like.
So I am going with There.com unless i find something wrong with it. It has what I need to keep and grow a community around my website.
Speaking of interaction, I had stopped my research on having messageboard games. So far I haven't found anything that would allow message board members to also play games against each other. I did see something from WildTangent, but I am not sure about that. Development cost would be way too high for me to afford. I love InvisionBoard, but I don't see a way, yet, to have members play against each other (and have it be viewed by other message board members if the players want) while on the message board; chat and play at the same time.
I can't have been the first person to think of this, but I hope to be part of the revolution to make it happen. Maybe, with the help of ModWorks Group, eSOURCE Magazine can have its cake and eat it too. With There.com for premium members (premium members also get chat sessions with artist, well known net bloggers, and others) to explore 3D worlds and for Super Sourcers get message board games. It will be structured somehow.
Well, we will see...
